for pain
and all its gain
i have become an unfinished art
one with a beating heart

for heartbreak
now i know what i seek
and what i must resist
for the one who persists

for grief
a reminder that a life, however brief
can leave meaning that won’t decay
i long for them, at the end of day

for sad music
i consider them relics
echoes of difficult times i once knew
now carried forward, lived anew
